Good point. As a Nurse, I have to treat my patients every need, both verbal and non-verbal. Here I was reporting a problem with no recommendation of my own or even inquiry as to how to treat it.
I could have simply said, “Mrs. , my patient reported nausea, what can we do to treat this?”
No, I disagree with that approach, because again, it implies that you don’t know what to do to treat nausea. I liked the approach mentioned above: “PT reported nausea, I have PRN orders here, but doc didn’t say anything. Should I give treatment?”
Now that everyone else is done, I want to say I think you’re crazy for going into nursing. But I’m sure you’ll do fine, you have a good heart. Good luck!
