Highlight the text in the post you want to quote. A box will pop up that says "quote. Click that and a reply box comes up with the highlighted text already in it. Start your reply a line below the quoted text.
Now, I wish I could figure out how to review my reply before I post it.
Look down at the bottom of the reply window; on mine, at least, in the lower right corner it says “show preview”. Click on that, and the preview shows up to the right.
When I first came over that seemed to be automatically turned on, and I was confused because I was seeing everything I was typing twice, as I typed it. But all you need to do to get rid of that is to click “hide preview” in the lower right of the preview box.
Having said all that: it doesn’t really seem to be the same sort of preview function as the old board had, because it doesn’t look just like the post would. It does show how the quote would appear, though.
Oh, I see how it is. I leave for a few weeks and you guys re-arrange the furniture while I’m gone. As long as you didn’t drink my beer it should be fine.
Gonna take some getting used to. But several posters both here and “Elsewhere” have been very helpful about sharing settings, hacks, tips, tricks, and such to make the move less stressful.
