Ah. On other boards, “log in with email” usually means exactly that – type in bordelond@straightdope.com and use THAT as a username.

I think I like the fact that new posts automatically show on the page as they are posted.
I notice that there is a “like button” now…I wonder how long that will stick around.
ETA: I see that we can still edit posts…and when I went back to the post I made 10 minutes ago, I didn’t have the option to edit it…but I did have the option to delete it…

I can’t see what I’m typing in landscape on my phone, only in portrait. This is going to take some getting used to.
I’m here. Not that I post much. But, among other things, I want to see if my avatar looks OK in a circle.
I made it! It’ll take a little while to get used to the new look, but so far I’m liking it!
Testing emojis: 
The “like” buttons are near universal on pretty much all other message boards now. Even old-school ones that pretty much work like the old SDMB. IMHO, like buttons shouldn’t be considered some weird out-of-left field show-stopper.
There are much more serious changes going on.

Thrilled that the new Dope saves drafts. Lord knows I’ve lost many a post because of a time-out error or some fuckery on my phone.

Draft-saving is also near-universal on newer message boards … again, ones that work pretty much like the old SDMB.
