I'm in a town hall meeting with my congressman - right now!

I just got a call from my congressman. Recorded of course. All I had to do is stay on the line and I’d be automatically connected to this conference call town meeting. So I stayed on the line. I’m listening to him blah, blah, blah right now.

This is weird. I haven’t tried speaking up yet. Not sure if I can, or what I’d say.

Okay, that’s a lie. I can say a lot, but I’m chicken to speak up.

Anyone else get one of these calls? It’s like a “live” radio show, though I don’t know for sure if it’s really live. I think it is. My congressman just said I can press *3 to join the line of people to ask questions.

This is a trip. Right now he’s talking about immigration and we need to protect our borders, internal enforcement of our laws, etc.

Pretty sure it is live. I’ve proofread many transcripts for conferences like that, except they were for corporations and it’s usually the CEO talking.

I’m seriously thinking about pressing *3 and adding myself to the queue. What to ask, what to ask.

Quick, give me some ideas!

I want to ask about this bill forbidding funding of any manned exploration of Mars. I also want to ask about Gay marriage.

Dammit! I pressed *3. got connected to a lackey who asked me what my question was, got put back into the live talk show town meeting thing, but never got called on. Fucker. See if I vote for him.

Actually, I probably wouldn’t anyway. He’s really pro religious and I couldn’t believe the number of callers expressing how religious they are and how they feel they’re being attacked on all sides and terribly afraid to even admit in public they’re religious.
