I'm leaving.

I’m jonesin for another cruise. The best is hurricane season (seriously). Rates are cheap past August. And if there’s a storm, and it misses us here in FL (this part is crucial), then usually Carnival will be giving away rooms for free because of all the cancellations. I haven’t been on the Carnival Legend, just the Valor, Triumph, Imagination, and Liberty. You’re going to love your trip. I’ve done that itinerary on the Valor out of Miami and it’s been my favorite so far.

I thought it was for real, and I was never going to get those naked photos of you.

But a cruise in March? I am either underestimating the tropical nature of the tropics, or I hope you pack warm, and can ignore the throngs of drunk spring breakers.

-chaoticbear, who has never been on a cruise and so likes to rain on peoples’ parades.

Well, we’ve docked in Tampa. We’ve been in port since about 7a, but we’re still waiting for ICE to release the ship. Which is fine with me, cause my brother won’t be here til noon to pick us up.

I had a great time this week and I’ll upload the pictures when I get home.

Good to hear. Can’t wait to see the pictures. I forgot what nice weather looks like.

Arrivederci. Have a good time!

Well, I don’t have warm, so I can’t pack warm – seriously, I don’t even think I have a jacket anywhere – and I grew up ignoring throngs of drunk spring breakers.

But no, the weather was fantastic. It was cold when I got home, about 52, but it’s better now.

Also, the Flickr photoset is here, with neither commentary nor context, but I will be adding titles and whatnot over the next couple days.

Wow, those are some gorgeous photos of the Skyway.

But the ‘sculputures’ made out of towels were … um… kind of creepy…is that the kind of thing that housekeeping leaves for you? I think it would freak me right out! :stuck_out_tongue:

I love cruising. We took one (with Royal Caribbean - the Mariner of the Seas) for our honeymoon, and a year later decided we ought to do it again, because it was so much fun and we were so tired from the wedding that we “missed” the first couple days (or so we justified to ourselves!) We took the second one on the Mariner too, since that was the best price we could get for the week we wanted, but it was a different itinerary.

My mom and dad have been on 2 as well, but it’s been years. They constantly talk about going again, and my mom’s DREAM is to have the whole family there, so my brother, sister and I are looking to see if we can manage it for the first week of January of next year. If the three of us (well, four, with my husband) can pay our own way, I’m sure we can convince my parents to go - it won’t be hard! We are looking at 6 nights on the Independence of the Seas. We have only sailed Royal Caribbean so far, and we are very, very happy with them.

I’m glad you had fun. I love the towel menagerie we get throughout the week, especially that “monkey”. I love when they grab your glasses or beach hat, or even my husband’s swimsuit once to complete the look!

Glad ya had a good time Bambi. Cruises are the best. I want to go on another one soon.

My mother has turned into a cruise junkie. In May she’s embarking on her fourth cruise since my father died. Hmmm… does that last look bad? Nah. She looked after dad for ten years while he battled alzheimer’s so she deserves to have a good time.

I think it was the first night on our cruise, a few years ago, and our daughters went scooting back to their room to pick up a sweater or camera or something, just running in and out. One of them backed into the monkey hanging from the ceiling. She let out a scream, scaring her sister.

By the time they came back to us they were laughing so hard they could hardly talk, and they told us all about this “intruder” in their room.
