I'm leaving.

But only for a week. It’s vacation time and I couldn’t be more ready. Tomorrow, I’m getting on the Carnival Legend in Tampa and I won’t be back til next Sunday. Going to visit Georgetown, Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Mexico; Belize City, Belize; and Isla Roatán, Honduras.

You see, I went on my first cruise last October. As soon as we got home from Miami, we booked this one. After we get back on Sunday, we’ll probably book another one in October. I’m an addict.

So, none of you will see me around til Sunday, not that anyone will notice. Totally mundane and pointless, and more than a little egotistical to think you care, but I wanted to share my excitement.

Try to hold the place together.

I care, Bambi. Even though this is the first post of yours I’ve ever read, I do care.

I’m just relieved that the “I’m leaving” bit isn’t permanent. Have a great trip!

Have a great trip.
My ex-wife worked for Holland America so we got a “free” ten day cruise every year.
I love it.
I remember the last day of my first cruise. I didn’t want to get off the ship. I was grabbing the railings.

Bon Voyage

When come back post photos!

Sounds like a great cruise - I know you’ll have a blast! Take and post lots of pics. And bring me a present!!

Then again, maybe not. My daughter came off one of them cruises with a big ol’ blue sombrero covered in sparklies.

One of these days, I’m gonna go on a big boat for fun. One of these days…

Here is the Flickr set from the last cruise, with some stuff in Miami thrown in at the top and bottom.

Sherman, I had difficulty leaving on my first one too. The friends I was traveling with and I decided that if we tried hard enough, we could probably stow away somewhere – at least for a few days – but we settled instead on booking this one. Free cruises? I need a family member who can go to work for Carnival for me.

Mom, you need to go on a cruise. Everyone needs to go on a cruise. Carnival even sails from Norfolk, so it’s not so far from you. They do a 6-day cruise to the Bahamas and a 2-day cruise to nowhere from Virginia.

They also do a five day cruise to Cozumel from Tampa, we were on that last month.

You keep going on ships?

Haven’t you seen Titanic ?

Have good time

Royal Caribbean sails out of Baltimore, which is even closer than Norfolk. And yeah, I know I need to go. But first I gotta get the kid graduated and married and moved (you remember my kid, don’t you? Did you know she’s getting married in May??)

Anyway, spousal unit and I intend to cruise some day before we die…

Hey, have fun, I’ll make a point of missing you.

Myself, me and the clan will be off this Thursday afternoon for ten days in Arizona. I’ll post sporadically though - we’ll be staying at my mom’s and most evenings we’ll wind up there.

The Wife and I met on a cruise and have been on a couple since then. You’re right, it’s addictive.

And fattening

Have fun, d00d! <waves>

What, you couldn’t talk Dan into it??

You’ve got a lot of nerve shirking your responsibilities around here, just to satisfy your own weird boat obsession. Be gone with you!

Oh, and have a great time.

enjoy your fun in the sun!

Have you should checked out your ship on www.cruisebruise.com? Just to make sure its not a recent carrier of a norvirus epidemic.

OK, this is it. Passing underneath the Sunshine Skyway and leaving the US behind. See ya later.

What the hell? Surely they have internet access on cruise ships these days. Are you actually going waste your time to go out and see stuff and drink and eat? Where are your priorities?

What were your favorite drills? Lifeboat, fire, or engineering?
What? You mean they have cruises where you’re not getting woken up at random times to deal with disaster drills?
What’s the fun in that? :dubious:

Have a great time, Bambi!

Yeah, me too. My first thought upon reading the title and seeing the OP was “Aw, man”.

Aw. I want a cruise!

Take me! Take me!
