I'm making a TV show

So I got together with some friends at work and wrote a TV show. It’s a spoof of a technical support department. Many of the scripts are based on real-life events. (If you play on the Steam network, you might recognize the Trial Download skit based on the recently trial download experience of the last two weekends, for instance…)

At first we were going to go with episodes (8-15 minutes each) with a theme that progresses through the seasons.

Then we figured we won’t be able to keep people’s attention for episodes that long and decided to go with shorts (skits or sketches) instead.

I wanted to get people’s opinions on the show, and how best to get viewership on it.

I’m posting the episodes on blip.tv, which is a revenue sharing site. I choose between ads overlay, pre-roll, or post-roll. (I chose overlay and post-roll.) I can link people directly to that site, or I can embed the episodes on a Blog site. I’ll still get any revenue from the .tv site, but also get Adsense revenue for the Blog site.

Really, I just want to use the one that’s best for my viewer, though - I’d rather they return.

So here’s the show site on blip.tv:

Here’s the Blog site:

So basically, if anyone has any advice on:

[li]How best to present the show to viewers[/li][li]How to recruit new viewers[/li][li]Suggestions for future scripts and material[/li][/ul]

Please feel free to post a reply or PM me

You’re doing a live action Dilbert?

Essentially, yes! It’s kind of a cross between Dilbert, Office Space, and The Office, with the (very mild) twist that our company does technical support.

We try to not rip directly off of those sources (or others). Much of our material is from our own real life experiences - much of my cast and crew does TS for their RL jobs.
