As my sig says, I chaged my username. I got tired of poeple saying I was a guy because of my previous username, so I changed it. Plus I like Egypt. Anyone who can guess who used to be gets… um, something. Except for da’ cook, she knows me and knows my secret identity. ::looks suspiciously around SDMB:: AH! I see you… Get away from here cook!
Let’s see - that would be the invisible sig that doesn’t exist, I presume?
Well that’s easy…if you go to ATMB you find out that you were bobevilsquid…
Keith
Anubis was male, too, though.
bobevilsquid, is that you??
(What do I get? (A winning lottery ticket?))
It does exist, I just didn’t want to post it so you wouldn’t know. But, since Odieman and Neidhart have correctly guessed who I used to be, I’m going to post it. And racinchikki, I don’t care that Anubis was male, to the rest of the Dopers that don’t know much about Egyptian Gods/mythology, they won’t make any assumption that I am a guy instead of what I am. That’s why I changed my username. And for those of you who got the question right, you get my respect.
[sigh]
Okay, raise your hand if you saw Anubis and thought “male.”
(raises hand)
raises paw
This is like (a male) getting a sex-change only to wake up to find you’re the still of the same sex but just with smaller set of tools…
In my experience, unless you have a name that is distinctly feminine (Yosemitebabe, andygirl, etc.), people will assume you’re male.
I’ve had people think that I’m a guy, and I think my SDMB name is gender-neutral.
Another gender-neutral name here – been poor folks out there reckoned I was male, when instead I come equipped with a whole different sort of tackle.
Dunno – Anubis is fairly gender-neutral to me. Takes care of the dead, true? Women in older cultures used to have to do that.
Anubis = male. Definitely. But for some reason I haven’t assumed you come equipped complete with jackal head. Strange, no?
Anubis definitely is a less male-sounding name than bobevilsquid, though (unless you went round telling everyone lots of times that you are a Roberta).
Ice Wolf sounds feminine to me, btw, Ice Wolf - I think it’s the ice part that does it. Just Wolf wouldn’t.
Fierra.
(Female. Who else remembers that “a” is the feminine ending in Latin?)
If I didn’t know better I’d have thought Arden Ranger and TVeblen were male.
::raises paw along with Cougarfang and Ethilrist::
Hey, remember, I’m named after a bear.
