I'm MELTING

I’m not surprised your threw up drinking a bott 'ole of water.

Just bring some uncooked pasta salad and it is crispy style.
Thank god I bought a new AC yesterday.

Currentyly 94 degrees in New York City, humidity 44%, with a heat advisory. I’m still going to the gym this evening. What? Why are you looking at me like that?

I’t’s one evening I know won’t be so crowded and I’ll be able to work out the way I want to work out.

So, have me committed. At least I’ll be in shape.

Here in San Jose you can file for a temporary reduction in your rent due to Service reduction. Is there something similar there in Gotham?

It’s in the 80’s and nice here.

95 in Dover, NH, I WAS planning on getting some sushi for lunch, but by the time I’d have driven back from the resturant, it’d be cooked (and it’s only a 3-5 minute drive), and cooked sushi is just wrong

at least we were able to put the A/C back in the window today, temps in the service area pre-AC were 89.5 degrees, and I’m dealing with a couple of machines that are having thermal issues even in cool temperatures

now it’s a somewhat better, but still warm, 78, time to switch the A/C to recirculate, hopefully that’ll drop the temps to something more comfortable (I’m shooting for 68 or lower)

but Noooo it couldn’t be global warming, could it?..

Although I’m sitting in a very warm office because the heaters are on and it is cold outside…I remember being in tropical countries in the summer and having a revelation. I had been dashing between air conditioned places or standing under fans etc, when I got stuck on a bus with no temperature control and only warm air coming in from the windows, squished in between a thousand other people and my backpack on my lap. I knew the bus trip was 7 hours and for some unknown reason, I realised that trying to keep cool and dreaming of being cool was a waste of energy - I was going to have to embrace the heat. I was able to do this and not worry about the sweat pouring off me. From then on, I didn’t use air conditioning and it made life much more bearable.

We had a weekend of 99-101 here in the Twin Cities. Minnesota’s not supposed to get this hot. Damnation, I want winter back. NOW NOW NOW NOW!

In the meantime, thank God, Allah, Buddha, Zeus, Gaia, the Dagda, Herne the Hunter, Vishnu and the Flying Spaghetti Monster for central air.

I hate to wish my life away - but damn, I’ll be glad when cool weather comes!

It’s “only” 92 now, but it will “only” be about 89 when I go to bed tonight, in my unairconditioned apartment . . . “Ze ceiling fans, zey do NOZZINK!

The building’s water lines hook into the A/C in each apartment, but I have no idea what this yahoo did.

I can handle the heat. I can handle no elevator. I can handle no water. I can handle any two of the three. But all at once? Fuck that.

I take it I’m one of the few that loves the hot weather? Don’t get me wrong, when the dew point gets up around 65-70 degrees, I’m inside sitting on one of the vents. We’ve been in the upper 80s and upper 90s for awhile now and I’ve spen very little time inside. I’m sitting out in the sun, doing yardwork, enjoying some cold ones, catching up on some reading. I love it!

Of course, the -40 degree temps with 50 MPH winds are a bit fresh in my memory, so that may be part of it. Now if we can just get some frigging rain. Our water bill is approaching our energy bill.

reads the various complaints/reports

What a world, eh?

Only 101 F today- a relative cold front. Last week it was 108-110. And, since it’s monsoon time, not even low humidity to save us. Hot AND humid. Weeks ago I discovered the AC doesn’t work so well in my car when it’s over 100. The worst part about that is I’m pretty much forced to eat lunch in the building with the cow-orkers, uh.

At one apartment complex in town, 20 residents have had no AC for months!! It boggles the mind how one could hope to survive, or to sleep even.

Mel, I spent a very hot summer with no air conditioning. At first I thought I’d acclimate. What happened was that for three months I slept incredibly badly, and was miserable nearly to the point of tears all the time.

I am not built for heat. It was 95F here today. I want snow.

It was so hot I saw a dog chasing a cat… and they were both on fire!

I’m hating this weather. I have a perfectly nice house where the temperature is nice and cool. Only it’s 1,200 miles away at the moment.

Of course I’ll be singing a different tune in January/February.

Only 98 F here in NoVA today. Hot, but humidity was down some, so it wasn’t to shabby.

When it gets like this, I have to give much love to the troops in Iraq. How in the hell do you walk around with 30lbs of gear in the middle of a freakin desert??? I feel like such a wuss sometimes…

Same situation in Chicago. Upper 90s both yesterday and today. I was planning on taking a road trip starting today to see baseball games in several midwestern cities with new ballparks. First stop was to be St. Louis tonight for their game against Atlanta. That is until I looked at today’s forecast for St. Louis of 100 and decided that I would just head straight to Cincinnati tomorrow.

It’s so hot in the deep south that breathing outside is like like trying to breath hot soup. It’s even too hot for me to enjoy my very few ciggy breaks throughout the day.

My son has asthma, and this weather has been hell. :frowning:

My heart goes out to those with any sort of breathing difficulty, as well as the elderly.

Please guys, if you know of anyone with these problems, just give them a call/visit to see if they’re OK. Thanks!
