I'm moving to the west coast

If everything goes according to plan, a friend and I will be jumping in a car one month from now to move from Vermont to Bellingham, WA. I tried to leave VT last fall for NYC but I forgot to bring enough money. This time I think I’ll be a bit more prepared. I haven’t visited Washington state but I’ve heard great things and the pictures look nice. I’m really looking forward to the trip; we’ll weave around the U.S. and stop for whatever catches our eye, camping when we can and sleeping in the car when we can’t. Any attractions we’d be foolish to miss along the way?

Wow!

I have no idea what you should see along the way, but I’m insanely jealous. . . have a blast and good luck!

And you plan to travel along which route(s)? You have literally the entire friggin’ country in between and you want a list of attractions?

Ah, before you go, get a map to start and read it.
:smiley:

Well, there’s Glacier National Park and Yellowstone!
You’re gonna love the state of WA! Hope your trip materializes. :cool:

Also – you can order free U.S. maps online, like:

Bon voyage!

NYC, DisneyWorld, The Grand Canyon, the La Brea Tar Pits, and the Mystery Spot.

Hope that helps.

If you are driving the I-80 route, don’t miss Lake Tahoe. It’s a bit of a detour from the interstate, but it’s spectacular. Then you can head down the hill, hit Sacramento (lots to see and do) and take I-5 north to Washington. Outside of Redding, check out Mt. Shasta if you have time.

Sounds like a great adventure. Wear your seat belts!

Don’t take I-80. Do yourself a favor. Do not. Unless time/speed is of the essence, go any way but I-80.

Though the part in the Sierras was pretty. But no. I don’t even think that was worth driving I-80 from start to finish.

::shudder::

DO, however, see Lake Tahoe. DO. That is a big huge DO. Sorry. Didn’t mean to imply that you shouldn’t, merely that you should not take I-80 to do so. :wink:
