Did you hear that the West Virginia Governor’s mansion burned down?
Yep, all the way to the axles.

Not a joke, but a safety advisory: make sure to check all your gear before jumping off the New River Gorge Bridge!
I think the other proposed name was “Vandalia” which meant we would have been “Vandals”!!:dubious:
Add me to the list of “used to live in WV” I grew up in Huntington. I miss it there, even if I have seen the outhouse sitting next to the satilite dish (S’truth!)
I’ll one up you, and gladly come to said DopeFest as your token black queer Jew hybrid!
Really, I love West Virginia. We vacation annually outside of the equally tiny town of Davis. (2 hours in the opposite direction from West Union on 50, north of Elkins.) I’m consistently pleasantly surprised by how kind and generous and just plain old nice West Virginians are. Given the much lower cost of living, (save for the price of gas, ouch) I’d love to move but I can’t work in my field as much there.
Best wishes in your move and your new undertaking, norinew!
Another West Virginian checking in. I was born here, and I haven’t been able to escape yet. Still working on that.
Welcome to the state!
I’m moving this Saturday, August 22nd. I’ll come back for good reasons, though, and the stickied thread is a good reason!
