I'm new to the concept of wikis

I use Wikipedia, but I didn’t even know what a wiki was until today  Now I want to explore the world of wikis. Wikipedia has anarticle about all the resources- the list of all 1,000 wikis, Meatball site, the wikinodes, the bustour. I try to use the bus tour, but I don’t understand. The way Wikipedia describes it, I should be able to hop on the bus at a bustop, and explore all 1,000 wikis one by one by seeing each homepage one by one, choosing to move on after reading the description and seeing the page.

I wish someone had explored all 1,000 wikis and categorized them in an alphabetized index.

I’m pretty sure there are more than 1,000 wikis in the world. Not all of them are publically accessible and not all of them are very interesting, but they exist.

Back on topic, I don’t really get what your question is. Wikipedia is capable of describing the concept behind a wiki better than I am, and you’ll probably learn best by observing and trying things out.

Here is a wiki I particularly enjoy reading. It’s very software-focused, and the regulars engage in interesting discussions.

My question is if anyone has used this ‘tourbus’ and what I’m doing wrong.

Did you see the TourBusMap? Or the CategoryCategory ?
