I had a growth in my ear. I had to have surgery to get rid of it. Unfortunately, it was larger than expected, and it had destroyed two of the bones in my ear. So, I’ll have to get surgery again to rebuild those.
The surgery itself wasn’t bad. I was unconscious for it. Afterwards, I was really out of it from the anaesthetic. Then I was dizzy. But I spent all day watching TV, and it went away.
Today I took the bandage off. My ear is pretty disgusting. Bloody, and there’s a fluid that keeps dripping out of it. Also, it feels really weird. Maybe sounds would be a better way to say that. I really don’t know how to describe it.
Where in the ear? I have this sometimes-it’s-there-sometimes-it’s-not “thing” under/in my right ear - it is very badly painful when it is there, but then it’s not there.
I understand how you feel, Strinka. I had 3 cysts removed from my inner ear (Well, whatever the ‘ear part’ that is behind the eardrum is called!) last year. I didn’t have to have anything done to the bones in the ear, since the cysts were caught early enough as to where they were still small.
I think they are coming back, as I’m getting the same, damned symptoms again! I’m about sick of this shit! The drainage will last for awhile, too. It’s especially nasty when you get up in the mornings, as I’m sure you already know! Good luck to you and I hope the damned things DO NOT come back!
My wife had a tympanioplasty (sp?) basically repairing a ruptured eardrum. I have been changing the bloody cottonball and cleaning her ear out for her. Her hearing is better, and but she still has to wear earplugs for bathing.
