Hold on…sticky sticky…
Sending nice sticky thoughts your way
Sending good thoughts your way. I hope this works out for you.
The numbers are still in range. SiL’s numbers were low for the second pregnancy and the Kidlette is now 2yo - and I’m sending all the sticky thoughts SiL will never need!
Prayers and positive thoughts are being sent.
Hugs and sticky thoughts!
My best wishes and sticky thoughts for you!
I will be thinking about you and checking this thread. How sure are you of your ovulation date? You don’t have to be very far off for those numbers to be completely normal…
Best of luck!
Educate me, is this sticky thing a carry over from pregnancy forums?
Fingers crossed for you OP. We just had our first miscarriage last week after trying for 2 years. It sucked hard.
I know I would have been between 13 and 15 DPO. I’ve been charting for 40 cycles, and on average, I ovulate on day 14, which would have put me at 14 DPO for the blood test. That said, I had a sonohysterogram this cycle too, so I guess that could have delayed it too.
Thanks again everyone. I’ll update when I get my numbers today.
I’ve been quietly following your journeys for a while now, so I kind of feel like I know you. I am hoping that all of the efforts you have put in to working on your life in so many areas pay off for you.
(That sounds clunky…I just now you have worked really hard on recovery, growth, etc. And I want for you to get what you want from this as well…)
Anonymous Coward: I’m not sure of the exact origin, but the first time I saw it was here when we were cheering for TokyoPlayer’s wife’s pregnancy to “stick” and allusions were made to “sticky” grains of (short) rice, etc. IIRC, near delivery time, little “Beta-chan” seemed to be taking “sticking around” to heart and people started making “slippery” wishes!
Sending positive and sticky thoughts your way, EmAnJ.
They use it a lot of trying to conceive boards too. It means the hope that the embryo sticks to the lining and doesn’t miscarry.
Thanks, that’s really sweet!
I guess I should also mention at this juncture that I did get in to the Masters program at University that I was applying for. In fact, I got my acceptance letter the same day we got a positive pregnancy test. So, at least there’s that.
I got my second beta number: 83. Entering the numbers in to a calculator shows my doubling rate to be 55.55 hours, which is well within the 48 - 72 hour doubling time guidelines. However, if I am right about when I ovulated, the numbers are very low for how far along I should be. But, I did have a sonohysterogram this cycle, and I suppose it could have delayed my ovulation. If it did delay it, even for three days or so, I’m right on track.
I have an appointment with my family doctor in about an hour and am going to ask for an ultrasound this week. I also go in for another beta this afternoon and will have those numbers in a couple of days.
Thanks again everyone for your support!
Good Luck! It’s nice to see the numbers climb.
Going up not down is good. Hang in there!
A valuable piece of advice about pregnancy and motherhood is that if something is within the range of normal, you need to be happy with it even if there is some “better” way it could be. Think of these things as a binary instead of a spectrum; you’re either normal or not normal.
So, congratulations, you’re normal! Fingers crossed for a mid-March baby!
May you have an uneventful and successful pregnancy. And Sattua is right - try not to worry too much about “good enough.”
