I'm REALLY awake - An insomniac MMP

Shower, if it ended there. I’m blessed to be in a musical family: however, his incredible word painting ended in my mind with a 6th grade two trombone rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Yowza.

Play it safe and do both.

At once. :stuck_out_tongue:

I used to play trombone

Coming into this thread on that statement it almost sounds dirty.

Another fly-over week here of my post count average going backwards. Hugs to everyone who needs one and even those who don’t.

It’s a cool instrument. Our son wanted to play flute, and our daughter wanted clarinet. But trombone was on both their lists, and they have grown to love it. Most of the time, I enjoy listening to them practice.

I started in 4th grade - I had to use my feet to operate the spit valve. Somewhere there is a Super 8 home movie of me doing just that.

:dubious:  you have a vivid imagination

Oh, I must tell my kids that!

Tell kids about Super 8 film or spit valves?

“When I was your age, the brass players had to press these funny levers and warm spit sprayed out onto the floor.” Ewww…

I’m somewhere beyond blurf. Faire is over for the year, and the house is littered with stuff. Mugs are in the kitchen, hats are in the dining room, boots are still in the truck, and anything made of cloth is in the laundry. I’ve had a rotten headache all day long - think it’s muscle spasms. I’m really curious about the recent decision by the FDA to allow botox for headache treatment. Of course, the next frontier is if insurance will cover it. I’d like to think so - what’s the cost of a vial or two of botox vs keeping a person endlessly on drugs?

I’m always amused when we give people instructions on making Faire costumes. Rule One is not to use anything that can’t be chucked into the washing machine and dryer. Rule Two is to chuck the raw fabric into the washer and dryer on HOT before cutting and sewing. It is a bit alarming to take four yards of new velvet ($25 per yard!) and abuse it like this, but if it needs to be babied, it’s going to bleed, shrink, pill or just plain fall apart by the second weekend.

If I didn’t have to work, I’d be curled up on the couch right now. Well, at least as curly as a 6’1" guy with a bad back can get…

What was the old ABC news show on in the wee hours, World News Now maybe? They had that great tag line “Where more insomniacs get their news than any other source!”

That whut I do, sprawl on the couch with the clicker until it keeps falling out of my hand.

Pies done and already to get et up tomorrow.

It keeps lookin’ like it’s goin’ to rain anytime but so far no rain. It’s 78 Amurrkin outside which is warm even for here this time of year.

Dindin will be jambalaya. YUM!

gotti hope the back gets feelin’ better soonish. Back pain is no fun.

Ok off to start gettin’ stuff done for dindin.

Later Y’all!

My sleep cycle is a bit wonky, mostly due to my bladder waking me between 4 and 4:30. Get up time is 5, so I don’t get back to sleep. And for some reason, some evenings I can’t fall asleep - not even with the help of bad TV.

I was going to mulch/vac the back yard, but as soon as I started the mower, it died. I’m going out in a minute to try to start it again, in case I accidentally flooded it. Otherwise, it’ll have to go in for repairs. Naturally. More $$$ out the window. Oh well.

Back later! Happy Monday. Tomorrow just may be my Firday.

Nope, it won’t start. We’ll see if **FCD **can figure it out. Meanwhile, the leaves continue to pile up…

I have phone interviews back-to-back all day until 6PM tonight and all morning tomorrow.

Wednesday I will be calling it quits early so I can make pie, and cook the corn bread for the dressing on Thursday etc etc

I am not sleeping will at the moment. I fall asleep exhausted but cannot stay sleeping. I’s tahred.

Up, packing and making phone calls. Movers tomorrow morning. Apparently all pronouns have been packed.

a view verbs, too. Wishing you an uneventful move!

Well, it was a good 7-ish year run, but it’s over. My cell phone died. My freebie Nokia has given up the ghost. We had 3 other cellphones in the house, but only one had a car charger, so I’ll be inheriting the old blackberry curve. It’s charging up right now, and as soon as it’s juiced, we’ll make sure it works and I’ll have to reenter all my phone numbers because they weren’t saved on my SIM card. No biggie - I don’t think I even had 20 numbers in there.

**FCD **is home - it appears the problem was fuel starvation - maybe a clogged filter? Unfortunately, all the cranking I’d done killed the battery. So this weekend, I’ll charge it and try again.

Good times…

LOL! (it isn’t a kitteh, but it’s cute)

What about your adjectives? Schoolhouse Rock says you must unpack your adjectives!

all mumpers who have facebook are hereby instructed to do as I, Soapy, SCL, and moorie have now done.
