…for the second time! I’m very excited, although having slept funny my back is sore and that doesn’t bode well for concert-going. I saw them for the first time last March (at Irving Plaza, same as tonight ) and I was absolutely amazed. Kevin Griffin was ridiculously hot and just oozed sex and gave me many dirty thoughts.
Wow, where did this go?
Anyway, anyone else going tonight or even just a fan? Clearly other fans exist, otherwise they wouldn’t be doing shows and selling tickets, but I have a hard time finding these people!
God Save the Queen of New Orleans (not the actual name of the song, I know, but I can’t remember what it was really called) is one of the two songs I’ll forever associate with moving to the US.
The other was Nada Surf’s Popular, oddly enough; both were in heavy radio play when I moved here, and both seemed to sum up the Coming to America ™ experience rather nicely.
I’m a pretty big fan, and I’m surprised that they’re not terribly popular throughout the country. Going to LSU and having family in New Orleans, I’ve had many opportunities to see them, but something always comes up (usually work).
The name of the song is King of New Orleans. It’s odd that I’m listening to them for the first time in a while right now. Where are they playing, anyhow?
omg omg omg kevin makes me super girly and he opened with “particle” and that’s enough to just make me melt into a puddle and it was soooooo good and sooooo fun and I’ll be swooning for a few days. best part? he’d keep busting out into other random pop songs, and the best one (not really ‘pop’) was Beck’s “Debra.” my friend and I were just dying!
