I'm sharp at work but clumsy at home... what gives?

i’ve noticed (apparently so have others) that while I am very very good in my professional life, a multi-task guru managing and meeting critical deadlines, and teams of engineers simultaneously from around the country, you’d never know it once I make it into my driveway! I can be a little absentminded, being handy around the house, I usually leave things worse off than they were before, and I procrastinate (something I never ever do at work) adnauseum! Whatz go’n on? IMHO, I’m quite content with myself, but a little curious about this dual identity condition, if you will.

Ummm, no I don’t take any drugs and only a cocktail twice a month.

There could be any of several reasons…

You could be tired by the time you get home
You are more relaxed and so are less alert
You are “on your time” and nobody is depending on you to do something, so there is no pressure to do it now.

But if you’re happy, then who cares.

Do you have kids?

I’m the opposite way, and there seems to be nothing that I can do about it.

wow, i think you’re right on all points! I am fairly happy and just want to chill out when i’m home

yes i do, a son college age… curious, if he was younger, how dif’nt would things be insofar as my clumsiness goes?

sharp at home but clumsy at work? Yikes! I think family would be more forgiving… maybe you’d rather be doing something else professionally?

ciao!
