The really cold winters effecting the NH started in 2005, but it took 5 years before the meme of global warming causing them took hold. If there had been just a couple of cold winters, it would be handwaved away as “natural variation”, or “there will still be the occasional cold winter”, which was actually the case until 21010, when that started sounding really fucked up. Now with a decade of mostly cold and brutal NH winters, the cold is BECAUSE of global warming.
The scientific problem with this is simple. If the last decade was one of warmer mild winters, that would also be explained as global warming. At which point it’s SCIENCE!
I can’t wait for Global Warming to kick in because it’s been damn cold lately.
The average temperature over the entire planet for this year is expected to be the highest ever, so says the NOAA.
Which means Mother Nature is trolling the fuck out of North America right now.
