I'm sick of this Global Warming!

You mean those other two closed threads…closed primarily because of your ridiculous antics and stupidity? THOSE Fukushima threads?

As for leaving this (Pit) thread ‘for the serious issues’, it’s to laugh. You are as ignorant of climate change and the serious issues involved as you were of nuclear power.

Makes sense. As very little of the scientific evidence is being “examined” by Republicans

It’s interesting to note that 95% of the scientific community supports the theory FX is so ineptly attempting to belittle.

That leaves as unsure or opposed 5% (I know, simple math, but I didn’t want to lose you guys too soon).

Given the closeness of those two numbers ( Reminder, 6% of scientist Republican, 5% not convinced of climate change), one could theorize that a Venn diagram of these two population sets might not only reveal a significant intersection, but actually entirely overlap( Allowing for survey measurement error).

It’s not a theory. It’s a fact.

This statistic should be given more publicity:

I first learned David Brooks was a blithering idiot when he mentioned a statistic like this, but reversed cause and effect: He blamed Universities for not hiring right-wingers. :smack:

I don’t remember the details of Brooks’ plan. I suppose Biology Departments needed to hire more creationists, Economics Departments needed more gold bugs, etc.

It’s neither. It’s a hypothesis with very strong support.

Pet peeve, but please don’t alter my words in your “quotes” FX .

You quoted me as saying,

When I’d actually said,

Then stop trying to tell people what I said. Just quote my words and shut the hell up.

FXMastermind

That’s twice butt-munch. I think it’s time we got a second opinion on this.

[Moderating]
FXMastermind, do not alter other people’s words inside the quote box. Doing so is a violation of the board rules.

No warning issued this time.
[/Moderating]

Quote your words FX? Why repeat the long form version of stupidity? Simple summation, you’re a moron. But then, you’re doing an excellent job of “telling” people that yourself.

Carry on. And on. And…still a moron.

Well, that applies to the causation-theory, but the warming is a fact.

Thems fighting words.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion on this liberal leaning board, but if you look at the data from unbiased scientists, you notice that average global temperatures have increased for every year that B. Hussein Obama has been in office. He’s using this to control the food supply, and you can see it every time you go to the grocery store.

Hot dogs have always been sold in packs of eight, but if you go to a grocery store now, with B. Hussein Obama in office, hot dog buns are only sold in packs of six. Thanks to Obama warming we’re producing less wheat than what is required to have eight buns per package. He’s using this rationing to push his gay rights agenda by forcing people to slurp on two naked hot dogs.

You jest, but just in case our resident denier gets the wrong idea: the **few **scientists that the denialists declare unbiased, are the ones that are getting it wrong, so constantly in the past years that one can not help but to look at their funding from conservative think thanks as part of the problem. They then are one of the reasons we see congress not doing much on this issue.

Was **FX **pretending to be an idiot, then not? Or pretending to be ironic, then stupid? Or genuinely hasn’t taken his meds? I can’t really decide what to mock until the someone helps me pierce the general incoherence.

What I see is that he is simply attempting to turn his sarcasm to 11 and tell others a caricature: that scientists are proposing that climate change is deadly and that scientists are deceivers as they will be correct no matter what changes come.

The mockery is geared to press his point that scientists will be right no matter what changes take place, this is a misrepresentation of the science, and a good thing to notice how wrong he is one should see the video of the baseball and steroids analogy, scientists predicted that more heat records would come in a warming world, but that cold records are still expected. This has turned to be correct.

There is also the mocking idea that scientists are proposing that extreme weather is **caused **by the current climate change. That is misleading, what scientists are reporting is that extreme weather events are getting stronger in intensity, and this is simply because the warming already detected has increased the water vapor content in some regions to increase by 5% or more; and the energy in the background were a tornado or hurricane passes by has increased also.

I still go for FX being just a willful ignorant.

Why do you think he “jests?” From everything I see of his posts and warnings on the board, he believes this claptrap.

About the hot dogs? Yeah, he may believe in that other claptrap but I take the post as satire. Still, I did take Poe’s law into consideration and mentioned what scientists actually report. **armedmonkey ** may think that FX is an idiot that needs to be mocked because it makes slightly more intelligent opponents like him look bad.

Can you tell me, if I cook my hot dogs in a solar oven, am I helping gay rights? Am I hurting farmers? Do gay rights hurt farmers? Help me separate the wheat from the chaff here!

Seriously, buddy? You are talking out of your ass. Bite me.
