i'm slightly deformed, and i'm freaking people out.

I have the same problem. Exactly the same problem. To a lesser extent, my son has it as well.

Nice to know I’m not the only one who’s tongue-tied.

I had a tongue-tied voice student.

Right now, it’s still cute - she’s grade 2 and lacking front teeth… but she cannot enunciate very clearly. There are quite a few letter-sounds in the english language which require the tongue to move up (or partially out) to the palate…

I dunno if they’re ever going to get it snipped. Hers is quite severe. She has trouble eating Peanut Butter, since she has to chew eveything in VERY small bites (she can’t use her tongue to “clear” her palate, or the outside of her teeth, etc.)

I think it’s something I’d correct, early, if possible - but of course I’m sure many get around the problem early on…

To elaborate a little more on my situation, now that I’m awake…

I asked my mother why she didn’t get it cut early on, and she told me that it was a non-issue unless I proved unable to speak or eat properly. Since neither of those situations arose (except for a slight lisp), it never got done. It’s really no big deal. I can do anything anybody else can do, except stick out my tongue and touch my nose. Big loss there.
