I'm still transgendered, FWIW

Guinastasiahuh?

The reason I started this thread was all the speculation going around in the wake of Kaitlyn’s meltdown. To paraphrase, “Now that Kaitlyn has ruined it for the other transsexuals, nobody will be able to come out as trans on the SDMB any more.” Well, the hell they can’t. I’m here, I’m queer, love me. <3

I’m just teasin’ you, since the thread title said “I’m still transgendered.” I thought I’d make a joke.

Okay, okay fine. I love you.
Now what?
:smiley:

Actually, I admire you for writing this thread. Dopers try very hard to take what we read and what is presented at face value. Your reality was devalued by virtue of similar circumstance by She Who Shall Not Be Mentioned.

I think you’re very real, and am glad you wrote this. Maybe being t.g. isn’t supposed to be fireworks and drama every single day. Hell, maybe life isn’t… but that is the life you are living and it sounds like you’re very contented to be living it. More power to you. Hell, I respect you for the Inner Wild Woman Coding ™ that you pulled off up there !!! :slight_smile:

Thanks, Doper pals. {{{{{{{GROUP HUG}}}}}}}

And if anybody sees fit to snark at my TG status, I’m up for the DOPER CHALLENGE. Yes, at the next DC-MD-VA Dope event, I will appear en femme and give my public a good look at me, thereby silencing the rumors that I been’t for real. Deal?

Or else you could pay me not to show up…

If it isn’t too forward, Johanna, may I ask your age? I see that you have a daughter, but are you in your 30s, 40s, 50s? I apologize if I’m being too nosy. I’m just trying to picture the stage of life you are in while undergoing your momentous journey.

I’m 45 and people tell me I look younger. Maybe they’re just being nice. I have 3 kids: 12, 15, and 17.

When the lights are down low enough, I am able to look in the mirror and Witch my looks to be more feminine. At least in my own eyes in the mirror. The best time (with the lowest lighting, probably not a coincidence), the result I got looked like an urbane southern European woman, an elegant modern Sicilian strega. The person I resemble most closely is my youngest sister. Or rather, how my sister will look when she gets to be my age. When she has her black eyeliner on, she resembles Princess Nofret of Egypt’s 12th Dynasty. Which is not to say that I resemble Princess Nofret in the least. Sis has certain qualities she shares with me, and different qualities she shares with the princess.

Sorry, I meant Princess Nofret of the 4th Dynasty, not the 12th.

By god, you’re positively statuesque.

I gather the brassiere had yet to be invented…
