If this thread is any indication, we’re still a heavily patrilineal society. Not to criticize, just make it clear. Other cultures, as in parts of South India, are matrilineal. Perhaps similar patterns are going on among women’s lineage, but no one notices because no one’s paying attention, the same value not being assigned to women’s naming. Are we comfortable with this level of gender inequality? Just askin’.

I understand that a lot of newly out gay/lesbian/transgendered people get overly enthusiastic about their gender identity/sexuality but it’s been over year since you first came out. No, Johanna is transsexual, see my quoted post of hers in the OP. I don’t think she’s even lesbian, I seem to remember a post of hers where she said she was attracted to males as well. I could be wrong though, I did a search and came up with nothing.
