I’ve noticed she brings it up from time to time. But since she and I both are interested in linguistics (and she has oodles more background than I do), I tend to notice her in GQ language questions more often.
Besides, of all the threads to complain about her hijacking on issues of gender theory, a question about “are the sexes really separate” is probably at the extreme bottom of the list. There may be a valid reason for raising the issue, but not relative to that thread – since the existence of transgendered and intersexed people is a very pertinent datum to the question! As well pit JR Delirious for raising the issue that Puerto Ricans are in fact Americans in a thread devoted to the use of Spanish by “immigrants such as Mexicans and Puerto Ricans” in the U.S.
I don’t mind people living whatever lifestyle they choose, as long as they don’t shove it in my face.

Re the topic, I think the warning signs are there when you get a transsexual poster, or a transsexual poster-elect, who chooses a female Christian name for their pseudonym. The data shows that the explicit socio-political statement inherent in that choice is the mere first-fruits of the rich harvest of opinions that is to follow.

Intersexed people are sometimes included under the umbrella of transgendered, but transsexuals, people who identify as a woman despite being male, are not. Gender involves men and women, sex involves males and females. It is not very pertinent to the discussion, it is a side note.

I’m not sure about “intersexed” - sounds fun, right off the bat; will look into it - but for years I’ve been an oversexed male living in the body of an undersexed man. Just can’t seem to make the transition.
