I'm Stumped: Laptop function key stuck on...

On my Toshiba laptop on my wife’s account (XP Professional), the function key is stuck on. this means that whenever I type jkl, I get 123. Pgup becomes home. F5 tries to switch to a projector. If I hold down the function key (similar to shift or control key, I say this in the event that the function key is only a feature of this laptop, my old HP laptop did not have a function key) the keys function normally. This is not a hardware problem as my account on this computer is normal. I have checked sticky keys, toggle keys and filter keys and they are all off.

I don’t know where else to check.

Can I doper smarter than me help out?

Have you tried Fn + Num Lock?
Sometimes there are some vendor-specific settings that controls these things. Have any of those?

That sounds more like the NumLock key than the function key to me. Are you sure NumLock isn’t on?
