Im the shizzzzzzznick! What???

I guess it’s finally official.
At 33 I have fallen over the cool fence and landed on my ass on the weak side.
I am constantly being bombarded with a new hip-hop lingo that I simply have no understanding of. Shizzzzzzznick on the bizzznick over at the dizznick HUH???
What the hell are they talking about and when and where did it come from?
Is it a Hip-Hop version of Pig Latin or something?
I just don’t get it and I really don’t know if I want to but my desire to become cool again is killing me.
I honestly “used” to be a cool dude but I’ve obviously lost my stripes.

I was just thinking of this very topic:

H in the Izzo
P in the Izzay!

I second the motion:
HUH?!?!?

I’m da shiznit - I’m the s#!*. This is all I know.

Right. It’s shiznit, not shiznick. It means shit, as in “I’m the shit.” Thank Mr. Calvin Broaddus for it.

The way I understand it is that you insert “iz” into every (or just the first?) syllable of a word.

bizatch = bitch
shiznit = wait a minute, where did that “n” come from? = shit

OK, that was completely useless. But I have seen Chris Rock do what seemed to be an exaggerated (or not!) version of this.

I’ll just come over and join you all in the non-cool corner as we sit around in our Bermudas hitched up to our pits and our sandals with black socks.

there’s no set formula… fo rizzle my nizzle basically means “for real my nigger” You just kinda have to pick it up from the context and tone of voice. You pizzles will start to undersizzle it eventually

<sigh>

I’m old. Very, very old.

[sub]thank gawd![/sub]

Haha. I find this shizzit very amusing!

All up in the hizzouse!

Thanks, PetW - as well as giving us all a good laugh I think that example helps

You know, one of the few things I’m looking forward to as I grow older is when people start looking back at today’s in-speak and saying, “What were we thinking?”

My generation had some pretty weird slang, but I’m not sure we could touch this.
RR

Souns like that song Double Dutch Bus.

izzou izzou mizzou

(I guess I’m old too).

Since no one seems to have picked up on this, Mr Calvin Broadus == Snoop Dogg. You may be shocked to find out how old he is.

He’s 30?

That’s it? He seems like he’s been around forever.

Don’t worry, InLikeFlynn, Around here at least it was cool for about… oh… a week. Now it is made fun of… a lot.

A couple of months ago some enterprising lad over at fark.com photoshopped an award especially for Snoop. It was engraved with something like, “fo schnizzle muh nizzle izzle bizzle fizzle dizzle.” Really funny stuff.

For the record, I believe “Double Dutch Bus” dates back to around 1972, and features several lines in “Izzle/Iznit” speak.
(Diz-ouble, Diz-utch!) Although they seem to have been “translated” in this copy of the lyrics:

It’s also vaguely reminiscent of “Ubbi-Dubbi” language from Zoom.

You will be considerably cooler if you have all your web content (including Straight Dope) thoroughly shizzolated. Just go to Snoop Dogg’s Shizzolator http://www.asksnoop.com/ and type in the Straight Dope url. Today’s question is rendered: Why do hooptie makers come up wit so many meaningless hooptie names?
Not to be missed.

there’s a place in Arkansas called Desarc (pronounced dezz-ark)…when i first got here, and my boss told me that he was going to Desarc, i almost asked him if he was going to dezz-ark to see his bizz-atch.

sigh

whatever. shizzle mah nizzle, yo.
