I'm torn... do I want a Repbulican civil war or laugh while my county collapses

Trump aide keeps up Twitter attacks on Freedom Caucus’ Amash

A Trump loyalist is following Trump’s lead and snarking his enemies on Twitter. In this case, the Freedom Caucus. I can’t decide which faction I detest more. On top of that, it’s being done in a communications medium I long thought was pointless and useless and dumbs down our collective IQ.

Because of the 140-character limit, this twit war between the Trump aide and the Michigan rep is coming off like a playground bully vs a martyr.

Trump drone: We’re gonna make sure you don’t get re-elected!
Self-entitled crucifix occupant: Here we go again, always attacking the conservatives.

I’m facing an existential dilemma. On the one hand, I hate the Trump faction for being no more mature than kindergarteners. On the other, I’m dumbfounded that the Michigan Rep is so used to responding to criticism with the usual martyrdom they use against liberals, he completely overlooked that the Tweet came from somebody in his own party. WHICH DO I HATE MORE???

But wait! The M Rep actually redeems himself!

He turned Trump’s chestnut against him, but instantly lost points for embracing the system we all hate, regardless of party affiliation. Does it get to the level of my hatred for all things Trump? I can’t decide!

Confusion to the enemy!

The Votemaster speculated that having failed with the Republicans, Trump might just decide to try a collaboration with the moderate Republicans and the Democrats to actually do something to improve ACA. It doesn’t seem likely, but nothing about the current government does.

A Republican civil war may be the best defense against the nation’s collapse.

If I actually had to choose, I’d have to swallow the bitter, bitter pill and argue that the good of the country outweighs all. If they can govern responsibly, I hope they will.

Unlike their behavior for the previous eight years, I do not want to pursue obstruction at all costs, for its own sake. Yes, I do want to pursue intelligent obstruction, but also to seek for cooperation when it can be made to work. I won’t argue (the way they did) that “If the other party came up with it, it cannot be a good idea.” I believe very firmly in the role of the “loyal opposition.”
