Thank you so much for bumping this thread. I missed it the first time. And people wonder why I don’t drive. In New Jersey.
I was on a bus stopped in the BUS STOP to pick up a passenger. A little old lady in a little old car tried to go around it, and missed, hitting the side of the bus.
She refused to get out of her car, where the passenger side was now crushed in. The bus wasn’t even dented. It being afternoon rush hour in New Jersey, it took the cops over a half-hour to show up. When the cop knocked on the little old lady’s window, she rolled it down and yelled “The bus was moving!”
I thought: You have a whole busload of people who saw what happened and are really pissed at you. I suggest you stop lying to the cops.

I missed this thread in its original incarnation, and I was wondering how I managed that, until I looked at the OP date. At that time, my wife and I were frantically getting ready for Trip #2 of three trips to Russia to adopt the Firebug. Suffice it to say I was paying less than my usual close attention to the Dope.
