So at 4 presidents a year, we’ll be through Andrew Johnson, Warren Harding and Nixon before the next ten years are up! Who else is going to be standing in line for those coins?

Is it just me, or is George Washington all grumpy lookin’ on this new coin? Maybe he was hung over when they caught the image.

Susan B. Anthony, Sackies. We already have two $1 coins out there that no one gives a rat’s ass about. These will sink into obscurity as well, unless the paper dollar is taken out of commission.
RE: George Washington’s sullen demeanor
Biographies I have read indicate he was not a jolly fellow, by any stretch. He learned over time, by dint of stern self-discipline, to rein in a volcanic temper. Not a guy you would party with. Warren G. Harding, on the other hand, was consistently affable and cheerful, but a naive nitwit. I find it hard to believe that anyone would put his portrait in a position of (presumed) honor.

The thing I like about a dollar coin is that they are easier to use in vending machines. On the flip side of that point though: There are still a lot of vending machines that don’t take them.

Why didn’t I put it in the Pit? I did. Why didn’t I start cursing in the OP? Because I didn’t think I was required to in order to keep it in the pit. Rest assured, any pit thread I start in the future will start with a gratuitous curse :rolleyes:
Maybe they think that Nixon’s deeds will be overshadowed by those of later presidents, and thus forgotten?
