I'm writing it, and, uhm... I'm apparently decent at it...

It’s odd that the first person / non-first person question comes up. I hadn’t even thought about the current work in that light until reading this, but I’m realizing that, other than naming a peripheral character after my first high-school crush, I’m scrupulously staying away from making any of these characters like anyone I actually know. I’m not sure why, but I know that I’m -consciously- doing so. It may have something to do with eventually sharing it, and not wanted said people to get weirded out about it…

Speaking of which, if someone you knew wrote decent erotica, and you found out you were a character in it, how -would- you feel?

I find erotica very difficult to write. Only parody is harder. If I can be of any help, let me know.

I think it would depend on the person. Obviously, if a family member used me in erotica and it wasn’t just as a periphrial (someone not involved in the sex but instead in the storyline), I’d be freaked out. Like, restraining-order freaked out.

If an ex or current lover was using me, I’d have to say I’d be flattered.

If a random friend used me…well, it would depend on the friend. Some of my friends I’d be like “Meh, whatever.” Others I’d be like “Oh ew they’ve visualized me nekkid.”

I meant to post more.

In erotic fanfiction I’ve written I’ve used some of my friends - always with their permission. Sometimes I have them write their sex scenes, but usually I do it. I don’t think I’ve ever used a close friend in any erotic original fiction, although I have used a character I created to loosely characterize me, one based on my boyfriend, and another based on my hot boss (not in the same fic, mind you - that would just be a little weird). Other than that, I think my characters tend to be original, or only loosely based on fictional characters in TV, film, and novel format. Very loosely, as I usually take liberties with them, hence them not being fanfiction anymore.

Haha very funny. I don’t get off on my own stories, you know. Not even after they’re written. I write them…well, I don’t know why I write them. I enjoy writing them, in the sense that anyone enjoys writing. Period.
Tully I am not even in most of my stories. I mean, not even in the sense that it’s a different name but it’s really me, or anything like that. Out of the 10-12 stories I have on Lit, and of the dozens more half-finished and started at home, a person like me features in maybe 2 of them.

ArrMatey!, there is one person whom I’ve asked to write a sotry about me - a female friend, a Doper as a matter of fact. (She hasn’t yet, but she’s probably forgotten.) However, I’ll use the same stipulations as tashabot for who I wouldn’t mind it from.

Totally meant to be a mere play on words.
