Ooo, this could be interesting…
I’m guessing they’re going to say we’re kind of loud, rude & crude and may run roughshod over people’s feelings, but we can accomplish just about anything when we want to (liberating the death camps, putting a man on the moon) and we do so in an astonishingly short period of time. And then we shrug it off with a “Sure, no problem” and a cocky grin. And we take for granted all our stuff: material goods, natural resources, civil rights, military power.
And that America is an exciting but chaotic place to live.
We’re like big, clumsy but charming teenagers. We mean well and are embarrassingly idealistic, but we don’t know our own strength sometimes.
Everyone has good teeth.
In every Armed Forces unit, there’s a brainy guy, a sensitive guy, an Italian guy from Brooklyn, a big, dumb, lovable hayseed, and a spoiled rich kid from Boston who learns what it means to be a man.
You obviously have never met my neighbor.
