[Disclaimer: I’m putting this question here because it doesn’t seem to be of enough general interest to warrant putting it in GQ.]
You know, that vast salty lake in the California desert. I’ve been there once, and on that occasion the beach was littered with thousands of small fish bones and a strong fishy smell. There had been a fish die-back not long before. No one seemed to be using the water recreationally. Out of curiosity I bought a book on the Sea, which spoke glowingly of its many recrational opportunities, but that book had been published in the 1960’s, about 20 years before my visit.
So old salts, tell me what’s up with the Sea now.
