From the first Godzilla movie ever made to the current Godzilla 2000 there has been about 10 different versions of Godzilla ( we shall ignore our lame version of Godzilla which has no good Godzilla attributes) which one could kick the other Gozilla asses. The one in Godzilla 2000 had a building dropped on him and still fought on. Other Godzilla’s have fought creatures some being lame others totally outrageous. So which one is the most kick ass Godzilla with the best Godzilla attributes?(likes to fight, break things etc)
IMHO, the first is still the best. Accept no substitutes.
Figure Id jump in before this gets bumped into “Opinion”, but my favorite was the Godzilla that could fly backwards using his atomic breath!
Mine too.
Who was the one who picked up a bus and threw it back down as people run screaming from the center of town?
Did I get that even almost right? It’s been a long time since by Soft White Underbelly days.
Off to IMHO.
I’ll third the flying one. [insert nuke-breath rocket lizard smilie here]
Godzilla:1980 led the pack in the field of <hick accent>bodacious city-stompin’</hick accent>.
It was a stand-out, though.
I’ll go with the second Godzilla – the one in “Gigantis the Fire Monster” AKA (I kid you not) “Godzilla Raids Again”. This incarnation of Godzilla had WAY more teeth than any other version. Also, they couldn’t kill him, so they just buried him in ice, like the Seafood Special of the Week. Besides, this has GOT to be the most obscure Godzilla movie of them all, so who’s gonna contradict me?
I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but my mom and I both though the 1997 Godzilla movie rocked.
It was a historic moment. It was the first time we both saw a movie and both liked it. Our movie tastes are generally radically different.
A lot of people though it sucked. Most of the objections I heard were to the effect of “the monster didn’t look like the original”. Screw that.
I didn’t go for sentimental reasons. I went to see a big lizard hit Manhattan and do a lot of property damage. I wasn’t disappointed.
Hah. See if I put you on my next crush list!
What does Godzilla have to do with Blue Oyster Cult (which had previously been known as Soft White Underbelly)?
Let me chime in with the best Godzilla villain, King Ghidrah the three-headed thingamajig.
Snoooooopy-
Please, please, please tell me you’re being sarcastic. If you know that BOC was previously named Soft White Underbelly, surely you know that history shows again and again how nature points out the folly of men…
Godzilla
(whoa, no, they say he’s got to go,
go, go, Godzilla
whoa no, there goes Tokyo,
go, go, Godzilla)
Damn, I really should dust off my trusty G&L SB2, Isadore, which I haven’t played in over two years.
Oh, and manhattan, I don’t give a damn if I’m on your, or anyone else’s crush list. I’m secure enough in my good looks, great personality and irresistable personal magnetism that I don’t need reassurance from a message board moderator.
Did you just say “important” and “Godzilla” in the same sentence?
