IMPORTANT! If your user name has a space in it or a non-alphanumeric character READ THIS

You know… you can’t really do anything about people who lost their email. But you CAN help the folks who will not know what their user name is on the new forum. Any chance you could send a mass-email to all users (or maybe all users whose user-name will change) and tell them what their new user name will be?

Because I can see people not being able to guess, and giving up. And also a gazillion messages going out to Jenny from the people who don’t want to give up.

This is a good suggestion if possible, but I’m guessing there’s no easy way to do it.

And on an almost entirely unrelated topic, although it does highlight a danger of removing spaces from names. I had the epiphany today that your username is probably intended as puzzle gal, not puzz legal like I’ve been calling you in my head all this time. Camel case, people! (Man Get Out, this goes for you too.)

I called her Puzz Gal in my head forever, too!

Can we fight over whether it’s legitimately camel case if the first word is capitalized?

As a (former) programmer, I’d be on your side in that fight. But calling it Pascal case seems a little nitpicky for the audience in general.

So, you want me to change my name to PuzzleGal?

I think the hamsters ate my message. I’d much prefer GaryRobson to Gary_Robson.

Thanks for handling all of this!!!

I might be being whooshed here, but the principle meaning of Mangetout’s username is that it’s French for “eat all” - because he likes to eat a wide variety of foodstuffs.

This is going to wreak havoc on my username, isn’t it?

Yeah, the different readings of Mangetout’s name has been a topic of discussion before. I like his name in particular because both readings work together as a statement and response.
