Yeah, well, I chose this ghastly username for a couple of reasons;
mostly as an attempt to be clever/funny
b) to remain anonymous
point the third) an attempt to get noticed (an member, who is English, told me I had the best username of all us wanker Yanks. Don`t recall who though)
I think it worked for the most part.
I never thought Id be here this long. I plan on staying much longer. So, I think I need to come up with a more personal username, something more humanesque, more likeable, yet still unique. Plus its hard to get any credibility with current username in any religious threads.
I offer the folowing;
Bryon - my real name, still unique (actual spelling) Clean search
Sparky - called this often at work (Im an electrician) Search found **Sparky** in use though he/she hasnt posted since 1999- with a total of 4 posts. Stupid lurker!
Beeker - My best friend has called me this since third grade (it has to do with my initials) Clean search
Or some other twisted yet respectable word which I have yet to think of. Maybe flewscrute? (Ninetywt gets credit for that one).
So I ask you, the meeming tillions, what shall I do? Keep the current one or change it?
Im open to username suggestions. If I pick one of yours, Ill give you credit in my sig for an hour or two.
I’d say keep it. I’m easily confused, and when recognizable posters change their names I get confused. If you do change it, I’d suggest putting the change in your sig, and in your location.
je·june
adj.
Not interesting; dull: “and there pour forth jejune words and useless empty phrases” (Anthony Trollope).
Lacking maturity; childish: surprised by their jejune responses to our problems.
**Lacking in nutrition: a jejune diet. **
No he isn’t Actually, after I’d already chosen this name I had second thoughts and decided the name I really wanted was “Dangerous Beans” … oh well.
Meanwhile, to un-hijack this thread …
How about a name that is related to your current one, but not quite so … well, you know. Something like “Whuckleberry Finn”?
I agree with twickster, even though I wouldn’t have used ‘jejune’ (kudos for thinking of that one. Weren’t you the poster who made crosswords for a living?). So if you want a name change, I can dig it. Unfortunately I don’t have a good alternative.
Beeker sounds a bit childish to me, sorry. Byron: I like that one, I really do. Classy, too.
Or maybe follow Ponder, but keep it shorter, just Whuckleberry
Otherwise you should just keep it; I at least wouldn’t really mind (but I sure will think ‘jejune’ whenever I see your name).
Lobsang: don’t change, or at least don’t change to Vimes. I keep thinking of that cleaning agent called Vim.
I agree with the no-change crowd. People remember you and know who you are. Lots of folks have been changing their names lately and I have no idea who they were.
After nigh-on two years it isn’t economical for me to try to reidentify older posters when I’m also trying to get to know newbies.
