For his birthday last September I bought him a Pioneer CD player for his burb. For whatever reason he still has not had it installed so, yesterday I made an appointment to take it in and have it installed.
Today I asked him to take my car to work please cause my sister wanted me to help her move some boxes. Then I had to tell my sister to tell him that she had some boxes to move just in case he asked wink wink. Wow I never realized that fabricating and living a lie was such hard work.
Sheesh. First Stuffy’s wife takes off with his BMW, now you bogart hubby’s 'burb. Have you people no shame?
Seriously, though, great idea! Maybe don’t say anything? Just have it installed, return the car, and wait for him to notice?
'Course, if he’s the non-observant type, he may not be hearing any tunes until early Fall!
Well I showed up on time to get some tunes in the burb and the conversation went loosely as follows.
Me: Well here are the keys, have at it
Guy: We can’t do that here, that thing is too big to fit into our bays
Me: Well why did you tell me that yesterday when I made the appointment.
Guy: Maybe whoever made the appointment didn’t know how big it is
Me: Maybe but I told him that I was bringing a suburban.
Guy: Well we don’t do many Surburbans here.
Me: Obviously
Guy: You could try our other shop in Centerville
Me: (mentally making a note that Centerville is about 25 miles away) No thanks, I’ll pass. Do you have to have it in a bay to work on it?
Guy: and what stand out in this weather?
Me: (mentally making a note that it is about 60 and balmy) Egads no you couldn’t do that could you?
So sadly I left with no tunes in the burb and stopped at another place on the way home. Helpful guy there said “sure we can do it, no problem but it’s a little late today. Could you bring it by in the morning around 11.” Of course I replied then I had to come home and tell hubby that I tried to do something nice for him but it was not to be. He will take the truck in to the shop in the am. It kinda ruins the surprise though.
