In an SLC hotel room

Across the street from the Temple. Last night it snowed and we walked around looking at the Christmas lights they put up on the Temple grounds. It was covered in about 4" of snow and the perfect (Mrs Cad said movie-like) snow was falling. This morning I get to hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir practice.

It sounds like a perfectly lovely day, and I wish I were there.

Instead, I’m in northern Illinois. We had ice yesterday and the driveways and side streets are almost impassible . I saw a FedEx truck trying to go down the street and it’s wheels were spinning like crazy as it crept along. We are getting up to six inches of snow tomorrow to top off the ice. It’s not pretty, and no choirs are singing.

Enjoy SLC!

This sounds perfect to me, excepts for the Mormons, a tabernacle, a choir, snowfall and Christmas ornaments!. :stuck_out_tongue:

I used to work with a guy who had to travel to SLC often on business; he had a t-shirt that said “Eat, Drink and Be Merry for Tomorrow You May Be In Salt Lake City.”

I hope you enjoyed the kerfuffle w/ the gay marriages suddenly taking place in a rush in the afternoon! Up here south of Ogden we got a little more snow than you down there; my neighbor’s entire lilac bush is collapsed into the lawn. It’s a lovely view down into the valley from the Capitol building if you get a chance to get up there.
