Yep we use it at work. It’s pretty nice to be able to work on a computer (web server) that’s 10 miles away from your office and not even get out of your chair.
if you have xp, you might want to check out remote desktop. it is included with xp. It’s called “remote assistance”, somewhere in the bowls of xp… It’s a bit faster than vnc usually.
I use remote assistance to control my media PC from my laptop. It lets the sound route through the soundcard to the stereo. Remote desktop is a little different. It routes sounds through the remote connection. Might be good for general use, but I’m usually playing with synthesizer programs, and the lag is too high.
When I get a Linux box on my network, I’ll be checking out VNC. I’m glad to hear that it works well.
