"In Bruges"

I did, but in the original thread.

Forgive my stupid iPod Touch link.

God, I loathed every frame of “Seven Psychopaths.” I can’t understand how the same person could have come up with both films. It got 83% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, so I guess it’s just me, but it was as bad as “In Bruges” was good.

If you missed the deleted scenes from* In Bruges*, here’s Matt Smith - as a young Harry - decapitating a policeman. Decapitations are cool.

Huh. I’m kinda glad they cut that.

Martin McDonagh is brilliant. If you like his movies you should read The Pillowman. One of my favorite plays about an author who writes twisted children’s stories.

Loved it. I’m wondering something though (spoilered for final reveal)
So Motormouth is the guy who shot his mother in the face, but I’m still not sure what to make of the cot death and “banging it on something” angle. It seems to me it’s implied that either :

 • his baby just died out of the blue and in his grief and ignorance that cot death really is something that sometimes happens for no reason, he assumed his mother had been responsible
 • it was his baby brother or son, she *did *bang it on something because it was getting on her nerves and he went mental
 • he’s just a psycho, he’s the one who banged the baby for making noise then shot his mother
 • something else I can’t quite see.

But which is it, do you reckon ?
Also Gleeson contemplating his schwacked rabbit in disbelief of what just happened brought honest to god tears of laughter to my eyes. So perfect.

This appears to be true. I can’t resist this movie.

YOU’RE an inanimate fucking object!

Dear Lord I love that movie.

I’ve seen it. Like a lot of British comedies, it had me laughing hysterically and horrible depressed.

An unbeatable combo. The question is, what snacks go with that mood?

What do you mean it’s not really your thing? What’s that supposed to mean? It’s not really YOUR THING?!! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? IT’S A FAIRYTALE TOWN, ISN’T IT?!!! HOW’S A FAIRYTALE TOWN NOT SOMBODY’S FUCKING THING?!!!

Tradition calls for cold, greasy fries and soggy fried fish.

Sounds like you understood it perfectly.

“What exactly am I trying to say? You’s a bunch of fuckin’ elephants!”
Seth Meyers just interviewed Farrell, and seemed more interested in this movie than True Detective:

Thank you for posting this. He’s doing exactly what I would do if I met Colin Farrell. I don’t want to talk about anything else except In Bruges.

So, hang on. Would all of the white midgets in the world be fighting against all the black midgets in the world?

Fookin’ Bruges…

Loved the movie - darkly funny, great characters, great dialogue.

I have never seen Gleeson be anything other than magnificent in a movie. He’s amazing in In Bruges, and equally good as an embattled Catholic priest in Calvary and as a smartass rural cop in The Guard, too.

He played Michael Collins in the TV series, The Treaty years ago and was excellent in that role too. He was once in my shop and was rather grumpy.

All the mentions of black comedies without one reference to Very Bad Things? This is the movie that’s so black that I haven’t been able to watch it a 2nd time.

Or maybe it’s just bad? I dunno, but I have a sense of fear when I have a chance to watch it.
