In-car CD player playing up...

I have a Blaupunkt 6-CD changer in my car. Most of the time it works fine, but every so often it goes through a period where it seems to randomly reject the discs, often in the middle of a track.

I’ve tried cleaning the heads, but I suspect it has something to do with temperature/moisture buildup. My next plan is to remove the magazine everytime I’m out of the car, in the hope of keeping it dry and warm. Is this sensible - or is there another likely reason for the problem?

All advice gratefully received!

In-dash CD changers often crap out if you use CD-Rs. Something to do with the blank discs being a slightly different thickness. Are you using pre-recorded or home-made discs?

I’ve been using a mixture, but it happens with pre-recorded discs as much, if not more, than my own ones…
