BTW, some group in NC is planning to air an add with Rev Wright’s “God damn America” speech. McCain is publicly asking them not to. Link

That deserves a Pitting.
How do you know they’re not?
You’re right… I’ll bet they are!!
I can hear it now:
C’mon Rev, you saw how we swooned over Barack’s Crazy Uncle Speech. We’re just trying to help. Don’t you understand?
It’s called a “double standard.”
Obama has made an entire campaign out of it (well, that, and a speech).
You have to admit, the speech was pretty darn good.

You’re going to be a very busy man over the next few months…
Anybody else agree with Dio the C that a Wright ad is worse than a Horton ad?
Why hasn’t Wright been out defending himself and Obama if he isn’t what he’s been made out to be??
He’s going to be on Bill MOYER’S show, not Maher’s, and you’ll need to provide a cite for Maher (who was raised Catholic( being a “Catholic hater.” Please be advised that his criticism of the Pope and of the Church hierarchy for the pedophile coverups does not count as “Catholic hating.”
Also, Gore mentioned the furlough program but never mentioned Horton by name (Cite, about halfway down - search for “horton”).
I’m going to send that on to the Economist who stated that Gore did mention Horton at some point. The intent, however, was clearly there on Gore’s part.

Have to agree with you here. Maher is an unfunny, patronizing, sycophantic half-wit (who gives superficial treatment to complex issues) but I have never seen him be anti-Catholic. To be sure he rails against the cover-up of the child assults but other than that he’s not overtly anti-Catholic.

I guess referring to the religion as a “cult” doesn’t count?

Moyer !!! Thanks for the correction!!! Now that should be a fair and balanced interview, ![]()
So when is that love-fest scheduled to air?
I guess referring to the religion as a “cult” doesn’t count?
No, it doesn’t. He ridicules all religions. Catholics just happen to be the biggest Christian denomination… by a long shot. He loved making fun of Mormons when Romney was still in the race. You have to do some real selective listening to think that he is anti-Catholic instead of anti-religion.
No more so than you referring to it as a “religion.”

What reason to you have to believe there will be anything unfair about it?
“Love-fest?” Are you still trying to debate anything with statements like that? Do you think you’re posting on Free Republic? If you want to allege that the Moyers interview will not be fair, then back it up with something.
Incidentally, what exactly is it that you think Wright owes you an explanation for? Did he drop a little too much truth on you?

Is there any doubt that the local GOP is running this in North Carolina now (instead of closer to the general) so as to help Clinton by tearing away at Obama?
They say politics makes for strange bedfellows, but having Clinton being bunkmates with the VRWC has to be one for the books.
He has.
He has? That’s all you got? A eulogy at a private funeral.
I’m talking about explaining to non-racist average Americans that he is not the leader of a Black Nationalist “Cult”.
Bill Moyer… hmm, I don’t think I have an acceptable site to cite.

Do you have some evidence that he is? I guess he’ll deny it as soon as John McCain gets around to denying that he’s a brainwashed, Manchurian candidate. By the way, why hasn’t that nutcase Hagee “defended himself” to the press? He’s actually expressed offensive views, unlike Wright.
So you retract your accusation, then?
I don’t think he owes me an explanation for anything, but I’d like to hear his explanation about how the government gives black people drugs. Or AIDS. And I’m offended when he refers to white America as the U.S. of KKK A. What is that supposed to mean anyway? That the KKK controls “white America”?

Not to make a racial issue out of it, it wasn’t. Which was the Bush team’s intent.

Actually, the purpose appears to be to associate both Dem candidates for NC governor with Obama and therefore with Wright in the minds of the voters.
But I won’t deny some Southern Pubs (1) would regard HRC as easier to beat in the general and (2) are much, much more frightened by the prospect of an Obama than a Clinton presidency.

Nope… just pointing out that anything to the right of MoveOn or Salon or HufPo isn’t worth the time. You can be the winner though if you want.
