In preparation for the next "Willie Horton" ad

Well, no, the case was not chosen to appeal to racial hatred. So, of course, your statement is wrong. Unless you have clear evidence that it was, which you don’t.

Same for your attempt to poison the well for critics of Obama. This is merely an attempt, as I have mentioned, to put all criticism of Obama out of bounds.

Such attempts are stupid, weak, and encouraging - a candidate who has no recourse from legitimate criticism except playing the race card is a defeatable candidate.

Not at all; only the preposterous guilt-by-association criticism based on his relationship with Wright.

here here; how about some criticism that doesn’t revolve around repeated play of “scary-black-man” soundbites on CNN.

You are absolutely right, guilt-by-association is wrong and to suggest that Obama believes what Wright does would be hard to believe.

I’ve never suggested that. My problem is that Obama is supposed to be the “clean and articulate” (Joe Biden’s words) Magic Negro who is the answer to America’s racial problems.

He did associate (and more!) with Wright for 20 plus years and then, from the beginning, tried to back away from him and plead ignorance instead of addressing the idiotic comments.

… and I challenge you to address post 120.

FWIW, I started this thread as a hypothetical question before the NC ad and before Wright made his publicity tour. It was in hopes that folks like you wouldn’t get away with “poisoning the well”.

I know. I’m calling the thread itself a hijack off the real issue – whether Obama and Wright are “racists” – which you seem to take as settled questions in the OP.

Excuse me Brainy G but why do you get to decide what the real issue is?

I’m not the master debater that you folks are but could that be what they call a straw man?

I don’t think that I ever said Obama was a racist. I don’t think he is?

I do think he used Wright and that church to help him when he needed it, lied about what he knew about it, and didn’t have the balls to come clean in the beginning.

Just like alot of politicians … but he’s supposed to be about change.

Cite that Obama lied about anything?

That’s your favorite word isn’t it.

I don’t have to because I said “I think”.

It’s my opinion that he knew that Wright was/is a black nationalist racist with all kinds of dirty laundry. His pleading ignorance is bullshit in my opinion. After all, surely he’s as smart as Oprah who apparently left that church for that reason a long time ago.

I’ll bet you want a cite for that too… well I heard it on TV and I think it was MSNBC.

So basically, you admit you’re making an assertion based on nothing.

:dubious: Obama has already explained quite candidly and, I’m sure, satisfactorily to the voters, why he stayed with his church and said nothing against its pastor for just as long as he could.

This is not going to matter by November, except in the sense that the Pubs are going to look sillier and sillier each and every time they try to do the Wright thing.

I’d like to see a cite for the “quite candidly” part of your assertion.

Right Dio?

Sorry. Inadvertantly brought a zombie back.
