In Search of...... (please read)

OK gang, we’ve all heard of the six degrees of separation thing. Its my thinking that with the 7000+ of us spread across the world we may know lots of people in the world. If we each know 200 unique people then thats 1.4 million people.

My thought to put this kind of power to use is I am looking for an old friend but I don’t want to spend the money to find her through a PI.

Her name is Shelley Berenstein (Although thats her maiden name) She is from the Detroit area originally, and should have just turned 28.

So can anyone help me out? Also if you are looking for someone add that in, lets use our bulk to our advantage hey?

Thanks all!

Uhhh, dude you are nuts. You are asking these people to stalk an old friend. I mean, for God’s Sake, just look Flyp over there rocking back and forth in the corner"CCCCCDDDDDDD’s". And Omni, constantly taking off the restraints AND his pants, aha is watching animals crap in his house, and Demo, Lord knows you don’t even WANT to get me started on Demo. I don’t think it’s such a good idea. But hey that’s just my humble opinion.

Hmmm…good point psycat.

But if I can talk to my best friend who I haven’t seen in years thats fine by me…Just don’t hurt her guys!

Frankie, might help if you mention who she knows, or you know in common with her already, and as many people too, then maybe there are more connections that can be made. Or someone might just tell her and she can look you up online… whatever…
might help. IMHO.

Maybe if we had a little more info. I’m also from the Detroit area. But that’s a pretty general statement. Can you narrow down the town maybe? Or what high school? Her 10 year reunion should be this year so they probably have some record.

She’s from Southfield originally as I am but, I kinda expected that she would have left the area. Last I heard she was in college in Worcester, Mass and she is an engineer.

As far as our high school reunion, I would be kinda surprised if anyone was organizing anything, plus I would be more surprised if anyone knew where I was so I can’t expect them to know where she is.

Who are you all lookin for?

Wha?

Just checking in… I haven’t met Shelley yet, but I’ll let you know if she calls. Last I heard she was running guns in Columbia. Er, maybe that was another Shelley.

You say you went to High School together? You might want to try http://www.classmates.com on the off chance that she registered.

Try popping Berenstein as the last name http://www.anywho.com
Putting in S as the first name results in initials or first names starting with ‘S’.
Looks like there is an S J Berenstein in San Mateo CA and an S Berenstein in New York City. If you know the names of some relatives that might help as well.

Don’t forget me and my cut wiener, and Spoofe seems to be coating his loins with Extra Whitening toothpaste…

Sorry hon, they don’t let me out of the box much. Good luck to ya’.
I have been searching for one of my husbands army buddies for a while and no luck. He was last heard from somewhere in Ohio, his name is Tony Bowling. I had the name of a town, and the unit the served in, but I am not about to wake the hubby right now and ask him.

Also looking for Steffani Freeman last seen in Providence, RI.

BTW Drain you wouldn’t happen to have heard of the Sugar Nipples would you? That is the name of one of thier songs and I giggle everytime I hear it!

I don’t know any of the people listed, but I have been looking for my own high school buddy. His name is Richard (aka Dick) Canfield. He attended high school in Tucson, AZ, but I’m pretty sure he’s not still living there. He had a brother named Jim Canfield. They would both be in their mid 40’s. I would describe him further, but I imagine he’s probably cut that hair by now.

Demo, bud, you tell us about your chainmail underwear and you even need to ASK what psycat means?

Drain doesn’t http://www.classmates.com ask for $$$?

I like http://www.alumni.net much better. Totally free.

I’ve tried all of the websites I could find. Thanks all. I was kinda hoping I could find her to let her know I was tying the knot at the end of the Month.

Oh well!

Frankie, good luck with finding her. I hope you are able to find her somehow. I am having the same problem with finding my little brother. I haven’t seen him since Jan '88, the day of our Mom’s memorial service. Long story, but I want to know that he’s ok, and to let him know I still love him.

His name is Robert Lester Hammack, born May19,'63 in Frankfurt, Germany. Dad was in the Air Force. As of Jan '88, he had quit the Army Reserves Unit out at Ft Sam Houston, Tx a short time ago, no details on how or why. No, I don’t have his SSN, it was lost when Mom passed away. He was living in San Antonio until a few months later, or so I heard. No idea where he might be now, or what he might be doing. Yes, I’ve tried all of the search engines I know of, but there are so many Hammacks, and R. Hammacks, and so on, that I could not possibly afford to call each and every one to find him that way. If anyone has any more ideas, I’d love to hear them. Our older brother won’t even mention his name, so he’s no help at all right now.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer, or any ideas on how to do it myself.

Purplebear, have you seen the book called How to Find Anyone, Anywhere ? Lots of good ideas in there. Might also try 1-800-USA-SEARCH , a friend found an old palthat way not too long ago. The Army Reserves may also have some info on file.

Thank you tygre, for the suggestions. I’ll try the first two. The Army Reserves do have info, I’m sure of it. However, without at least his SSN, and preferrably his birth certificate, neither of which I have, they won’t even admit he was a part of the unit at Ft Sam to me, much less tell me anything I could use.

single files: I actually have a professor named Dick Canfield-- Was the person you’re looking for interested in physics?
