"In the Butt, Bob" Revisited! Hey Lib! I got yer back!

Oh.

Still doesn’t make complete sense, but definitely makes more sense now.

So a whole bunch of viewers claimed to have witnessed something that they didn’t actually witness. Pfft. Big whoop. Happens all the time. (Does the name “Woodstock” ring a bell?)

OK, DKW. You’ve peaked my interest.

What do people think they witnessed at Woodstock that perhaps didn’t happen as they remember it?

Can you provide a link?

I could be wrong, but I think that DKW was referring to how (supposedly) many more people claim to have been at (ie, seen) woodstock than actually were there.

Which is a bad analogy, since the people who claim to have been at woodstock are intentionally lying.

If the people who claim to have seen it haven’t, which seems unlikely to me, they aren’t intentionally lying. They may have convinced themselves they saw it.

I think it is far, far, more likely that it did air in the seventies- I’ve heard enough people I respect say they saw it, there would be no reason to lie. The argument that it makes a better story doesn’t apply to those who just chime in to say, “yep, I saw it too.”
By the way, “yep, I saw it too,” at least on the clip show- where the clip matched the stories exactly.

Just curious. How old are most of these people(whom you respect) who claim to have seen it in the '70’s?

While I personally doubt that it aired in the 1970’s, I certainly could be wrong. It doesn’t seem to have become a hot topic until the early 1990’s. .

A clip certainly existed(as we have the copy today), but there is no credible evidence that it surfaced(or was shown as an outtake) before the late 1980’s/early 1990’s.

I was thinking of one specific person, and it isn’t polite to tell a lady’s age- so let’s just say that she’s slightly older than me and I can remember watching the Newlywed Game in the seventies. I was a kid, and I wouldn’t have gotten the joke then, but I saw the show (not that episode, though).

Why is it so hard to believe the clip was broadcast back then? I remember shows like Soap and Three’s Company from the era… Do you remember Madame’s Place? It was a smutty version of the Muppets, one of the running jokes was that Waylan Flowers, the puppeteer, was homosexual. Oh, how funny.

I didn’t say that I was the first ever to bring it up. I was disproving the notion that a clip surfaced and then suddenly everybody started remembering it. Many of us remembered the Up the Butt clip long before the recent resurrection of the In the Ass clip. There is still a clip out there to be found.

Well, I know I am practically invisible on these boards ;), but I did start a thread about this after the game show special aired.

As you can see, there are a few people who said they saw the clip aired on television in the 70’s or thereabouts. I can’t say as to whether their memory is playing tricks on them, just showing there are others who say they saw it long long time ago.

the clip linked above is the one i remeber seeing, cause the husband with the gnarly beard is pretty unforgettable. i had visions of this dude ridin’ Olga like a bad dog, her shoutin’ and screamin’ like a Banshee!

anybody else see “Porn for Kids”?
