Oddly same here, my Parents and their friends, bound together by my Scout troop, all had semi-weekly bridge or pinochle games.
But That ended about the time i started playing D&D, and my Dad even played for a while with us.
The average ACBL (bridge) player is 69 years old. That’s up from 65 in the early 1990’s. Membership has dropped from about 200k to about 136k in the same time. One source shows less than 1% of ACBL members are under 25 years old. 63%. of all ACBL members are female.
The USCF (chess) has 60% of its members aged 14 years old or less. Membership has increased from about 55k to about 93k over the past 30 years. Less than 5% of USCF members are female.
