Of course the reasons this works w/the kid in a classroom are things like “we all know who you are and will be making fun of you later in your face” and “your mother will find out about this and they you’ll be in trouble” and so on.
IOW, it only works 'cause:
A. The person behaving poorly is known
B. the person behaving poorly has outside influences which the teacher has access to and
C. the person behaving poorly is actually wanting acceptance from those being bugged.
None of these are true about the average troll. They want to be able to point at a thread and say ‘see, I caused that reaction. Aren’t I the wonderful and powerful? I made them all crazy and made them react to me’.
