It may very well be a flashlight. But the way she wielding it is bizarre at best.
Unless it’s connected to an expandable baton (this exists. I have 2 of them, both different) if she wanted an impact weapon she should have re-holstered her flashlight and drew her baton, which is an actual weapon.
But when adrenalin is flowing the thought process can be hampered.

There are oh so many handy techniques for these batons, but I don’t see them much anymore. Everyone carries an expandable baton now since they’re so much more convenient, and a Taser fills the gap between not-quite-as-effective-Asp, and lethal force.
Of course, if you want to get all Star-Wars-Kid on the street, you’ll need the RRD!
