Where are you living now, or do you split your time between the two? I’d like to add you to the list but I’m not sure where to put you.
Not the one I was thinking of but I am probably a bit older than you.
Ottawa, Canada.
Sounds about right. Or better than normal, actually
Go Scotland! My ancestors on my mother’s side come from the town of Biggar- County Clyde, Clydesdale, Lanark, Lanarkshire? I’m not sure which is correct.
My mother’s maiden name is Bigger (with an e). The town wasn’t named after her family, it was the other way around. One of our ancestors was John of Biggar, which over time became just Bigger. We visited the town of Biggar almost 30 years ago, had a wonderful time.
Edit: “London is big but Biggar is Biggar.”
Biggar is in South Lanarkshire these days. It’s not moved but the local government areas have been changed around a bit over the years. Historically it was in the County of Lanark, also known as Lanarkshire. In the interim period it was in Strathclyde Region, so all your suggestions are kinda right
Thanks, Baron Greenback. I’ve always wanted to go back to Biggar for the Hogmanay Bonfire, which has been held annually for over 1000 years I believe, dating back to pagan times. I’ll bet it’s quite a party!
Shanghai, China (I’m a Brit).
Another English 'un over 'ere.
Live in the Southwest, grew up in the Northwest, on the border of Lancashire and Cumbria.
Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
Singapore. I’m a Brit too.
Umm, yeah, that’s what I came here to say so… nothing to see here
And yes I had to look it up on wikipedia first. For some reason I thought Biggar was more Borders region, whoops.

USA, member of the “lots”. Born on the East side, live on the West side (almost as far as you can go, north and west, in the contiguous US)
Scotland, about 8 feet from PaulParkhead. By way of the United States and Canada, of which I am a dual citizen.
