Sadly, it’s become apparent that I was beaten into submission as a child, and it’s a permanent personality trait.
How can you people NOT read the boards in the order on the pull down menu???
OK, I generally start at GQ, but if the last post in ATMB looks interesting, I might head in there. But I have to do this FIRST!
Then, in order, down to The Pit, even though GD mostly scares the crap out of me.
Before anyone presumes I must be the most organized person in the world, let me assure you that the rest of my life is what I think of as “Chaos Theory”.
It’s always first User CP (to see if I have any active threads), then usually CS to IMHO to MPSIMS. I go to GQ only if I have a need to ask a general question. I rarely start GD threads on purpose, and I try to stay out of the PIt, thogh sometimes sheer masochism brings me there.
Then usually the Pit (mostly to lurk), and then IMHO, MPSIMS. Don’t always visit GQ & GD, but when I do, it’s usually after making a second pass at Cafe.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE GD, but like Merhouse, am terrified of it. Still, some of the most fascinating reading evah! My order would go:
CS
GD
IMHO
GQ
MPSIMS
the Pit
Always on the lookout first thing in the day for books, music, movies & opinions on television watched the night before. Then looking for current events and commentary. The Pit is fun but I save it up fior the afternoons when I am losing energy and need to be re-charged. I live vicariously thru others’ ranting without posting my own, is that pathetic or what?
Usually in order. GQ, GD, CS, IMHO, then MPSIMS. Occassionally I’ll look at ATMB or the Comments of Cecil’s column, or even of the Staff Reports. I’ve only gone into the pit when I was led there by a link. And I’ve usually regretted it. If I want mindless debate laced with profanity and no wit whatsoever, I’ll listen to the people I work with.
Sometimes if there’s a topic that catches my eye I’ll pop into GD, and then from time to time ATMB. But mostly the first five. The Pit and CS are the two I spend the most time in, with IMHO and MPSIMS coming a close third and GQ bringing up the rear.
New Posts, for sure, opening every thread that looks interesting in a tab. Close each tab as I’ve read it. If I don’t finish all the tabs, I bookmark 'em so I always have something to read later.
