In what ridiculous way are you spoiled?

I live in the back of the last house in a short dead end street at the top of a mountain, so there is no traffic noise whatsoever.

I have an air conditioned home in what is likely Western Canada’s hottest summer ever!

I have the World’s Best Husband and the World’s Best Cat, and we all live in a house with central air.

As long as it isn’t “the last house on the left” you’re safe. :scream_cat:

It’s actually the last house on the left, indeed. I don’t understand your reference, but now I’m worried. :scream:

ETA: ok, I googled it, and now I AM worried!

Oh I forgot that part! My nice car also fills itself with gas, but only when my husband drives it.

I’m retired and married to a wonderful woman who likes to cook.

Living the dream, indeed.

I’m married to a woman who really enjoys baking. Bread, pastries, cookies, cakes, biscuits, you name it. And she’s a fantastic cook too.

In the technological arena, I’m ridiculously spoiled in that I have an Opal pellet (i.e. “Sonic”) ice maker. There’s no practical reason to have or need one of these, but they’re awesome this time of year for iced tea, sodas, etc…

I’m married to a woman that puts up with me

In my entire adult life (I’m 46), I have worked only about 3 years at a proper, full-time job (and even those were often not even close to 40-hours a week, even though I was salaried.) I’ve been my own boss the rest of the time, and I’ve enjoyed the work-life balance I have (except for last year, where there was pretty much zero work. That wasn’t fun psychologically.) It’s plenty enough for my lifestyle and to have squirreled away enough money so far for retirement. (I’m mostly a wedding photographer, though my background is documentary/news photography.)

I have zero debt and have been that way since we paid off our first home back in about 2006 or so. Since 1998 I’ve owned seven cars and three motorhomes, and never paid a nickel of interest on any of them.

I have had the opportunity to make friends around the world with people who share an interest with me. When I follow up on that interest and go somewhere to indulge it, I also get to indulge in a different culture or two or three, and I get to make even more friends.

My bed. It’s a queen size that I share with nobody, not even a cat. The mattress is of perfect firmness, the sheets are crisp cotton, I have squashy down pillows and a down comforter and various duvet covers of different colors and patterns and thickness to change when the whim suits me. My bed is right next to a window that has a nice double fan in it so when the weather is clement I always have fresh air blowing by me. I sleep like a rock and get up feeling awesome in spite of being old and having various bodily debilities inherent in attaining many decades of reckless existence. I love my bed!

Funny…I’ve never noticed you in my bed. :upside_down_face:

Down pillows and a down duvet are my jam.

I receive 11 hours of vacation time from work every 2 weeks.

mmm

IKEA has this down pillow with like a pillow inside a pillow with different thicknesses of down and yeah, it’s $70 but MY GOOD GODS it is the nicest thing I’ve ever laid my head upon. I unreservedly recommend this pillow.

I need to know more.

Does it heat you up when you sleep on it?

Not at all, and it’s firmer than most down pillows–I’ve been sleeping on this one for almost a year and it’s just as poofty and big as it was the day I got it. And here’s the best part–since the down is so dense in it, when you flip it over it’s cooler than most pillows ever manage to be! It’s magical! My neck is all weird and I’m a side sleeper so I need a pillow I can bunch up a bit to wedge under my neck but then squoosh the part above that so my head angles downward a bit and this pillow does it perfectly. I lurves dis pillow SO MUCH that if I go travelling it MUST come with me or I won’t sleep properly at all.

Weird shoulder, side sleeper!

Couldn’t be happier to have happened upon this recommendation!

I am struggling to find a comfy pillow, so big thanks!

Cool! When I bought pillows at IKEA decades ago, they only had mixed feather/down, and the feathers would poke out (even with a pillow protector) and stab my cheek and neck. This dual pillow sounds perfect! I’m a side sleeper, too, with the same issues you have, so this is awesome.
