In what states will Trump do better than a different GOP candidate would

Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa?

Trump’s appeal seems to be in high school educated whites, so I’d guess states with a higher % of them and a higher % of people who work(ed) in manufacturing would see more Trump support as opposed to a candidate like Jeb or Cruz.

The Rust Belt, like you said. A normal GOP candidate couldn’t fire up the coal workers, steel workers, West Virginians, rural Pennsylvanians the same way. That is the region where anti-establishment, anti-free-trade, anti-globalism, anti-elite sentiment is strong.

Yep, he does better in the white rust belt. But it still might not be good enough to gain PA.

I’m guessing he would be do great in Idaho.

States with lots of white people and few college grads. Like Iowa. :frowning:

With all of the Clintons and Obamas swarming Michigan this weekend, I’d say Michigan.

I feel like Trump is going to win Ohio. I know plenty of educated white guys who are voting for him too. They will help the uneducated angry white guys tip him over.

Supposedly he is expected to do better than Romney just about everywhere. Except maybe Utah.

I dunno, he isn’t very popular with the Mormons.

Maine. He’ll probably get a couple of electoral votes out of the Rednecks of the North.

I don’t believe Maine has ever split their Electoral Votes before (at least not since I’ve been paying attention to politics).

I think he’ll do worse than Romney in the more urban Southern states like North Carolina, Georgia, and Texas.
